Galerie Lelong & Co. is pleased to announce the installation of Andy Goldsworthy’s Stone Sea Passage (2024) at Mona – the Museum of Old and New Art in Hobart, Tasmania.
The site-specific permanent work constructed of local sandstone connects the land and sea jetting out over 50 meters into the water. Movement and fluidity—a longstanding important part of Goldsworthy’s stone works—appear as the viewer looks down the beautiful yet threatening passage way. As in many of Goldsworthy’s works, the journey of people, stone, and the landscape are embedded in the sculpture.
