Photography comprises much of the source material for Pamela Phatsimo Sunstrum's work. With Walkie Talkie, it was a photo she took of the preparations for her mother's funeral feast in Botswana. Walkie Talkie is the name of a prized local dish and is a play on words of the parts of the chicken. She also sees it as both a cultural exploration - what is delicious in one culture can be repulsive in another - and also as a sign of the dark parts of our personality.
