Art Basel Hong Kong: Booth 1D25
-
Galerie Lelong is pleased to participate in Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 with works by Etel Adnan, Marc Desgrandchamps, June Edmonds, Günther Förg, David Hockney, Hyunsun Jeon, Nalini Malani, David Nash, Yoko Ono, Jaume Plensa, Christine Safa, Pinaree Sanpitak, Kiki Smith, Pamela Phatsimo Sunstrum, Antoni Tàpies, Juan Uslé, Fabienne Verdier, Wang Yan Cheng, and Guy Yanai.
For the fair’s Kabinett sector, the gallery will present a selection of paintings by June Edmonds, marking the first presentation in Asia for the Los Angeles-based artist. These new works exemplify her ongoing exploration of the ebe-amẹn, or river leaf, a sacred geometric form from the Kingdom of Benin. Reanimating the ancestral motif through vibrant, rhythmic abstraction, Edmonds bridges African diasporic traditions with universal questions of geometry, spirituality, and endurance. She considers how ancestral memory and the layers shaped by past and present experience live beneath the surface of oneself; here, the river leaf becomes a reminder of the grounding that remains even when those depths rise into awareness.
